At QRCodeGen.io, we respect your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your data when you use our QR code generator and scanner.
Data We Do NOT Collect
All QR code generation happens in your browser. We never see, store, or transmit the content you encode in your QR codes. This includes:
- URLs you encode
- WiFi passwords
- Contact information
- Text content
- Any other data you enter
Camera Access
Our QR code scanner requests camera permission only when you explicitly start the scanner. The video feed is processed entirely in your browser and is never transmitted to our servers.
Location Access
When creating a Location QR code, you may optionally click "Locate Me" to auto-fill your current coordinates. This location data:
- Is obtained directly from your browser's Geolocation API
- Is never sent to or stored on our servers
- Is only used locally to populate the coordinate fields
- Is encoded into the QR code entirely in your browser
We have no access to your location. You can deny the permission request and manually enter coordinates instead.
Local Storage
We use your browser's localStorage to save:
- Your QR code history (for your convenience)
- Your cookie consent preferences
This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.
Analytics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site. This helps us improve the service. Analytics data is collected with:
- IP anonymization enabled
- No personal data collection
- Only aggregate statistics
You can opt out of analytics through our cookie consent banner.
